What to Expect:
You'll have a short, private consultation with one of our pharmacists, who will ask about your symptoms and medical history. If you're eligible for Pharmacy First, they can assess, diagnose, and — where appropriate — prescribe treatment on the spot, including antibiotics for conditions like UTIs where clinically needed. If your symptoms need further investigation, we'll refer you straight to your GP or another NHS service, so you're never left without a next step.
Who It's For:
Pharmacy First is for anyone registered with a GP in England experiencing one of the seven conditions covered by the scheme — including women aged 16–64 with symptoms of an uncomplicated UTI. It's ideal if you want treatment quickly without booking a GP slot, or if your GP surgery has no same-day availability.
How to Book:
No appointment is usually needed — simply walk in at our Ladysmith Road or Scartho (Springfield Medical Centre) pharmacy and ask to speak to a pharmacist about Pharmacy First. For busier periods, you can also call ahead to check availability.

Yes. Women aged 16–64 with symptoms of an uncomplicated urinary tract infection can be assessed and treated directly by our pharmacist under Pharmacy First, without a GP referral.
